This beautiful Chocolate Calcite rock oil candle includes a glass wick holder with fiberglass wick, starter pack and mini funnel for filling. Size 5”x7.5” inches. #4770
Chocolate calcite is a warm, earthy brown variety of Calcite known for its rich, layered tones and natural banding. Often sourced from Pakistan, it has a smooth, polished look and is valued for its grounding energy and connection to stability and balance.
Perfect gift for a candle lover to display on a coffee table, kitchen island, bookshelf or outside table. Smokeless, odorless ultra pure paraffin oil and fiberglass wick last 2-4 hours depending on length of wick and quantity of oil used in reservoir.
Fiberglass wicks don’t burn down like traditional cotton and will not need trimming. Replacement wick is recommended if fuel types are changed or wick gets wet and should be approximately 1/8” thick to fit in the thermal wick tube.
Any lamp oil of your choice can be used in our rock candles. We recommend ultra- pure paraffin oil which has a make-up of 99% pure liquid paraffin wax and is perfect for filling oil lamps and burns clean to eliminate smell or sight of smoke. Other oils that can be used are olive oil, coconut oil, Firefly Fuel, and many more. Check online resources to determine the best oil for you to use in your new rock oil candle.

To Fill:
Remove glass tube and wick together from candle.
Insert mini funnel.
Fill reservoir with ultra pure paraffin oil.
Reinsert glass tub and wick.
Let wick absorb oil for at least 30 seconds.
Work wick back down into glass wick holder so only about 1/16” is peeking above the lip of the glass wick holder.
The longer the wick, the higher the flame, the faster the fuel will burn.

About Found In The Ground Candles
It all started in 2009 when our 12 year old son decided he wanted to become a paleontologist when he grew up. He learned all about the local fossil digs, did reports in school, and became an expert on dinosaurs and paleontology. Our summers always included a long drive to see grandparents in Star Valley, Wyoming. The states we drove through were indescribably beautiful! Buried beneath the land was a rich history of the Western Interior Seaway containing creatures of a long-gone sea. Our trips soon became visits to “hot” fossil sites along the way. We found Cretaceous bivalves fossils (shells) just north of Page, AZ. In Delta, Utah we found, in the middle of nowhere, a trilobite quarry where we dug for 550 million year old trilobites. Kemmerer, Wyoming gave us the most interesting experience where we dug in the 50 million year old Green River Formation and found all kinds of well preserved fish called Knightia, Diplomystus, Phareodus, Mioplosus, Amphiplaga, and Priscacara. We had boxes of them!
Now, as a family, we have taken these beautiful rocks and figured out how to share them with others by creating our unique flat rock oil candles. Many of our first candles were from our fossil hunting expeditions. Now along with the fossils we’ve added agates, jaspers, geodes and many other beautiful stones. We hope you enjoy them!
